Life is too short to worry about it
I dropped my car off this morning and thought I would bike home. Approximately 15 km on according blackberry maps. What I did not realize, is the terrain. It is all up hill from down town to the Highlands . The great thing about the landscape is that it is paved and beautiful. There are very few steep up hill climbs and places to stop for a break. The intersection heading into Colwood is a little confusing. I was not sure whether to turn right on the #1 or go straight into Colwood.
I took the #1 and headed up a gravel path that took me right to Thetis lake. 40 minutes from down and I was at Thetis lake. Nice... If it was warm enough I would have jumped in. I decided to take Thestis lake to our neighborhood which meant that I had to break some no biking rules and the terrain is pure mountain bike territory but it is was fun. 60 minutes and I was home. It usually take about 15 minutes with no traffic and 35 min. to 40 min. during the Colwood crawl, if driving.
Now I know why this trail is world famous. A great way to commute anytime.
