The heat from the sun helped to extract the volatile pure oils form the plant to create essential oils. High quality oils use steam to extract the essential oils from the plant but CO 2 can also be used. Essential oils are composed of super fine molecules that can penetrate the skin and enter the blood stream in several minutes. They are a highly concentrated plant extracts. It can take 1000 lbs of rose petals to create 5 mls of pure rose oil. In the late 1800's and early 1900's essential oils were used as pharmaceuticals. This is one reason to treat them with respect when using them. The were used for their anti viral, bacterial, fungal properties as well as a host of other healing qualities. The flu season this year is turning out to be one of the most publicized in a very long time. Some ways to boast your immune system and help fight the nasty bug are to reduce stress, get a good nights sleep, eat lots greens and fruit and get some exercise. Essential oils can also provide some protection. They can kill air born germs that cause the flu, like Tea Tree, Manuka, Thyme, Eucalyptus Blue Mallee oils. Rose hip seed oil9/19/2014 We have sourced out one of the finest rose hip seed oils on the market. This is considered an extra virgin rose hip seed oil. Most rose hip seed oils are almost clear with out any scent. Our rose hip seed oil has a slight pink colour and a very light scent of rose. The one on the left is the commercial brand. The one on the right is Free Spirit's organic extra virgin rose hip seed oil This oil is naturally full of essential fatty acids including Vit. F and one of the only oils to contain Retinoic acid otherwise known as Retinol A. I wasn't to shocked to find out that frozen blue berries from the US have a larger amount of pesticides than fresh strawberries. I was shocked to find out that these pesticides contain chemical compounds that increases my child's chance of having ADHD by twice as much. I found some articles from MSNBC, Maclean's magazine and USA Today. There is also the well publicized claim from Gwenith Paltrow about shampoo and the connection to ADHD. Scientist were quick to denounce her claims, but those same scientist posted that there are no environmental causes for cancer. I don't know what they have been reading. My concern is that my little guy is now in the school system and several symptoms for ADHD are similar to how he and all his active, healthy friends act on a regular basis. In fact when I was in elementary school we all had some of the below symptoms. I do remember going to the principals office more than once but he never offered me a pill.
