Essential oils

Essential oils have been around for centuries. The Egyptians started by spreading oil and herbs on flat stones in the sun. The heat from the sun helped to extract the volatile pure oils form the plant to create essential oils.

High quality oils use steam to extract the essential oils from the plant but CO 2 can also be used. Essential oils are composed of super fine molecules that can penetrate the skin and enter the blood stream in several minutes. They are a highly concentrated plant extracts. It can take 1000 lbs of rose petals to create 5 mls of pure rose oil.

In the late 1800's and early 1900's essential oils were used as pharmaceuticals. This is one reason to treat them with respect when using them. The were used for their anti viral, bacterial, fungal properties as well as a host of other healing qualities.

The flu season is publicized every year. Some ways to boast your immune system and help fight the nasty bug are to reduce stress, get a good nights sleep, eat lots greens and fruit and get some exercise. Essential oils can also provide some protection. They can  kill air born germs that cause the flu, like Tea Tree, Manuka, Thyme, Eucalyptus Blue Mallee oils. There are also oils that can help boast the immune system by stimulating the organs, like Lavender, Rosemary, Oregano. Essential oils that may help you sleep are, Neroli, Marjoram, Hi Alps Lavender.

What is GC testing?

G.C testing is completed from several of our suppliers, it ensures that our essential oils our free from pesticides and residue from synthetic fertilizers. Gas-liquid chromatography can identify individual compounds that create complex essential oils. Certified Organic oils do protect against pesticides and fertilizers but they don't protect the quality of the oils. Organic essential oils can be adulterated with other organic compounds that water down and reduce the healing quality of essential oils.
